Keep a project's boards in one place

A project's thinking ends up spread over a retro, a roadmap, a few diagrams and a workshop or two. The Project hub template is the board they hang off: a one-page project brief, and a card for every other board, a double-click away.

The Project hub template is on every plan, the free one included.

The Project hub template: Goal, Scope, Milestones, People, Risks and Decisions, and Boards for the cards of the project's other boards.

How to use it

  1. 1In Kaavit, choose New board and pick it under Start from, or use Insert template on the toolbar of a board you already have.
  2. 2Fill in the brief: what done looks like, what is in and out of scope, the milestones, who does what, and what could go wrong.
  3. 3Add a card for each board the project uses with Link a board on the toolbar, and drag it into Boards. The same button creates a new board, and if you manage the hub it can start shared with the same people.
  4. 4Double-click a card to open its board. The header shows the way back to the hub.
  5. 5Before a check-in, select the cards and ask the AI where things stand. It reads those boards and writes its answer on the hub, and one click takes it back.

A card shares nothing

A card names a board and grants nothing. People who can open that board see its title and a picture of it; everyone else sees an unavailable card, and learns nothing about the board behind it. Taking a card off the hub never deletes its board.

Or ask the AI

A real result, not a mock-up: what the AI planned for this prompt, laid out by Kaavit as it would be on your board.

The prompt: Combine these three workshop boards into a roadmap for next quarter.

Three workshop boards linked as cards. With them selected, the AI read what was on them and made the roadmap below.

Questions

Can a card link to another organisation's board?

No. Cards link to boards in the same organisation, so a hub never becomes a way into somebody else's boards.

How many boards can the AI read at once?

Up to five of the selected cards, one level deep: the boards the cards name, not the boards those boards link to. It reads them as you, so it only sees what you can open.

Does a linked board count against the plan?

Linking a board you already have does not. A new board made from the Link a board dialog is an ordinary board and counts towards the plan’s limit: 10 boards on Free.
