Prioritise with an impact/effort matrix
When there are more good ideas than time, the question is which to do first. An impact/effort matrix makes the trade-off visible, and the Prioritisation template gives you one in a click.
The Prioritisation template is on every plan, the free one included.
How to use it
- 1In Kaavit, choose New board and pick it under Start from, or use Insert template on the toolbar of a board you already have.
- 2Put each idea on its own sticky beside the matrix — or paste the list and ask the AI to make stickies of it.
- 3Place each sticky where the team agrees it belongs. Disagreement about a sticky is the useful part: talk it through, or leave a comment.
- 4Or select all the ideas and ask the AI to sort them into the quadrants, then move the ones it got wrong.
- 5Start with Quick wins, plan the Big bets, and be honest about the Time sinks.
Or ask the AI
A real result, not a mock-up: what the AI planned for this prompt, laid out by Kaavit as it would be on your board.
The prompt: Put these on an effort/impact matrix: SSO, dark mode, CSV export, offline mode, faster search, audit log, mobile app, onboarding checklist.
Questions
How does the AI decide where an idea goes?
It reads the ideas and the quadrants on the board and places each one; it has no data you have not given it. Treat its placement as a first draft for the team to argue with — every sticky can be moved, and the whole change reverted.
Can I use different axes, like value and risk?
Yes. Rename the quadrants and the axis labels; they are ordinary frames and text.
