Brainstorm together, then let the AI find the themes
Good brainstorms have two halves: getting every idea out, and making sense of them. The Brainstorm template frames the question; the AI does the affinity mapping, the sorting that usually eats the second half of the meeting.
The Brainstorm template is on every plan, the free one included.
How to run it
- 1In Kaavit, choose New board and pick it under Start from, or use Insert template on the toolbar of a board you already have.
- 2Replace the question at the top with the one you are answering. A specific question gets better ideas than a topic.
- 3Everyone adds one idea per sticky note. Quantity first: nothing gets judged yet.
- 4Select the sticky notes and ask the AI to group them into themes: an affinity diagram, without the hour of dragging. It arranges them into frames, and one click reverts it if you do not like the result.
- 5Name the themes, then start a vote: everyone places a few votes on the ideas they back, and nobody sees the counts until it ends. Carry the winners onto a roadmap or a prioritisation board.
Start from nothing, or from the AI
Stuck on an empty board? Ask the AI for ideas and it adds them as ordinary stickies you can move, edit or delete. It can read what is already on the board, so you can ask for more ideas like the ones you have, or for the angles nobody has covered.
On the Team plan, a facilitator can start a timed round: everyone writes privately as drafts only they can see, and the drafts are revealed together when the time is up — so the first idea posted does not anchor everyone else's.
Or ask the AI
A real result, not a mock-up: what the AI planned for this prompt, laid out by Kaavit as it would be on your board.
The prompt: Brainstorm ways to reduce customer churn for a B2B SaaS product and group the ideas into themes.
Questions
Does the AI change what people wrote?
Grouping moves notes into frames, and the prompt box shows how many elements it created, updated or moved. If it changed anything you did not want, one click reverts the whole generation.
Can it make an affinity diagram?
Yes. An affinity diagram is notes grouped by what they have in common: select the notes, ask the AI to group them into themes, and it sorts them into a frame for each theme.
How many people can brainstorm on one board?
Everyone in your organisation can join a board shared with it. The Free plan has up to 5 members and 3 invited guests per board, and anyone with a share link can view or edit; a link that lets people edit lasts up to 7 days on Free.
