Connect Claude Code to your team's whiteboard over MCP
Your AI coding tool knows the system it is working on, and your team's whiteboard is where the picture of that system lives. Kaavit has an MCP server, so a tool like Claude Code can read a board and draw on it — and what it changes of other people's work arrives as a suggestion for a person to accept.
Connecting AI tools is on every plan. On Free, a tool's changes have a daily limit.
How to connect an AI tool
- 1You need a verified email address, and an organisation whose owners and admins let its members connect tools.
- 2In Claude Code, run "claude mcp add --transport http kaavit https://api.kaavit.com/mcp", then type /mcp, choose kaavit and authenticate. In another tool, add a remote MCP server with the address https://api.kaavit.com/mcp.
- 3Your browser opens Kaavit. Choose the organisation the tool will reach, check what it asks for, and press Allow. The tool signs you in through the browser, so there is no key to copy.
- 4Ask the tool for what you want: read the onboarding board and tell me what is missing, or draw this service's architecture on a new board.
What a connected tool can do
It can read the boards you can open in one organisation and create new ones. A board it creates is private to you unless it is created shared: with a team, with the whole organisation where the organisation allows it, or with the same people as a board you manage. It can link boards together and add to boards you can edit. What it adds appears on the board as it is drawn, is listed in the board's history, and can be reverted there.
It can keep what it drew itself up to date, and delete it. A change to anything else on a board is never made directly: it arrives as a suggestion, shown on the board as it would land, for somebody to accept change by change or decline.
It cannot delete what somebody else made, change who can see a board that already exists, comment, or reach another organisation. It can ask for a picture of the board with its answer, so it sees what it drew.
You stay in charge of the connection
A connection belongs to one person in one organisation, and it can never do more than that person can. Disconnect a tool under Connected apps in your account; owners and admins can revoke anybody's connection, limit connecting to themselves, or turn AI tools off for the organisation.
Board text is written by other people, and a tool may read instructions in it. Connect only tools you trust, and look at what they suggest before accepting it.
Questions
Which AI tools work with Kaavit's MCP server?
Any tool that can add a remote MCP server and sign in through the browser. It was built and tested with Claude Code.
Is the MCP server on the Free plan?
Yes. On the Free plan, connected tools can make 25 changes to the organisation's boards a day between them; reading boards is not counted, and the Team plan has no daily limit. The organisation's owners and admins decide who may connect one.
Does a connected tool use our AI credits?
No. The tool brings its own model. Kaavit lays out what it draws, and that spends no AI credits.
Can an AI agent delete or overwrite our boards?
Only what it drew itself. A connected tool can change or delete its own drawing, and it cannot delete anything else. A change to anything else on a board arrives as a suggestion that a person accepts or declines.
Is there an API key to manage?
No. The tool signs you in through your browser with OAuth, you choose the organisation it reaches, and you can disconnect it at any time under Connected apps.
